I very often sort files in Windows by the modification date so that I can see the files that I have most recently been using. However, if I unzip or un-rar files that I have downloaded, they usually maintain their original modification date, not the date I downloaded and unpacked them.
SOLUTION: Use the “touch” command from Unix/Linux using Cygwin.
